Was so free and brave

Then I rode away

Was so sure and safe

But I couldn’t stay.

So I lit a fire

It lit up the plains

I made it big

And fanned the flames.

I watched it spread

My face glowed

And I turned my back

My eyes flowed.

I rode so fast

The wind burned

I rode aimless.

I couldn’t return.

Now it’s legend

That fire back then

Now it’s dark

Never lit again.

The ashes float

Reminder at every turn

Wind whisper soft -

“Memories don’t burn.”
