We decided life was too short

When we set out today.

Off to see the trains,

We decided we might sing.

In the concrete wonderland,

We might run along like hopscotch.

As we pronounced unaffected love,

We thought about floating and rooftops.

Always older, but forever children,

We climbed fences and rattled away.

We laughed because we cared so little,

Serenely moving our bodies through time.

The trains rushed to and fro,

With tense people and blurry faces.

Like a lullaby, we felt warm in the moment,

The stars of the world glowing so far away.

With melodies everywhere,

We sang the chorus whenever we could.

So that’s why we were smiling today,

When we promised to never

Ever

Take anything too seriously.
