Once I awoke
To the sound of time
Brushing past my cheeks
And lightly through my hair.
I heard my life through a wire,
And I heard my memories as whispers
Falling from the sky with rain and sunlight
With dusk falling and the world spinning slowly
I awoke.
With the blood in my veins
And the air in my lungs pumping
With my eyes darting in my deep sleep
I awoke
To a world with many people walking backwards
And to birds flying through clouds made of my mind,
Through emotions floating like cobwebs on the northern lights
And buildings shooting up to meet the stars with empty glowing eyes.
I awoke
Roadways on fire lined by empty chairs sitting silent under jagged blue mountains
And aeroplanes making words in the sky and computers crying to me like lost children
I awoke
And all the world didn’t seem what it was with a hundred million visions exploding in each iris
I awoke
And found myself asleep
In my own bed
Looking sad
Smiling.
